JRP ( Jidaigeki Renaissance Project )

Brought into being and launched by Kyoto Prefecture on August 20th 2009, the Jidaigeki Renaissance Project is a project aimed at bringing both the culture of Kyoto and Japanese period films, known as “Jidaigeki” to the world. This is a collaborative project between Toei Kyoto Studio Co., Ltd, Intage Inc., and Beans Co., Ltd. using the Ubiquitous Museum media and tourism model. The Jidaigeki Renaissance Project is directed not only toward fans of Jidaigeki, but also those who know little or nothing about Jidaigeki, which is an important facet of Japanese culture. Although both the samurai and the ninja are known around the world, what makes them so special and intriguing is still a mystery to many. Through Jidaigeki and various international projects, it is the goal of the 10 members of the International P.R. team to shed light on many of these mysteries, share Japanese culture with the world, and attract people from around the globe to Kyoto Studio Park.
